Roadmap

The HCC Remodeling Process

A detailed outline for bringing your vision to life—clear expectations at every stage.

  1. 01

    Initial Phone Call

Big-picture conversation about scope, timeline, and budget with Dylan.

It starts with a friendly phone call with company owner Dylan House. You’ll talk about the big picture—what you have now, what you don’t like about it, and what we can do to make it better. We’ll cover work scope, timeline, and budget. Depending on the project, we may ask for photos or general measurements. Typically by the end of this phase we can tell if we’re the right contractor for your needs and share a general ballpark cost.

  2. 02

    At-Home Consultation

On-site visit for measurements, ideas, feasibility, and clear expectations.

We’ll schedule a visit to your home to see the space in person—taking measurements, gathering design ideas, studying feasibility, and getting to know each other. It’s best to have all decision-makers present. By the end we should have clearly defined parameters, a realistic anticipated budget, and a general timeframe. Moving forward, we ask for a one-time retainer (credited toward the job if hired) via a Design Agreement Contract.

  3. 03

    Design / Project Development

3D plans, elevations, and renderings with revision sessions included.

Once the Design Agreement is signed, we put the vision to paper using the latest technology so you can see the project in 3D before the first hammer swing. A typical design package includes floor plans, elevations, section details, and realistic 3D perspective renderings—plus up to three revision sessions. Allow up to six weeks depending on the job. At the end we’ll have what we need for a fixed-price cost, permits, and trade partners.

  4. 04

    Proposal

Completed design plus a detailed fixed-cost project proposal.

We present the completed design (which you should already know well) along with a Fixed Cost Project Proposal—a detailed document covering every discussed parameter, expectations, and terms. When both parties are ready, we collect a job deposit and begin scheduling while staying in close contact about next steps.

  5. 05

    Pre-Construction Meeting

Schedule, logistics, permit box, and how we’ll protect daily life at home.

We go over the proposal again, answer questions, and discuss how we’ll mitigate construction’s impact on your home and daily life. You’ll receive a written anticipated job schedule, and we’ll set up a permit box and key lock box, plus plan material delivery and storage.

  6. 06

    Building Phase

Demolition through build with weekly updates and milestone check-ins.

Demolition begins and the transformation takes shape. You’ll get weekly progress reports and milestone meetings. We work to stay productive and respectful of your home—consistent communication is key, and we’re with you every step of the way.

  7. 07

    Completion

Walk-through, punch list, warranties, and ongoing relationship.

We do a thorough walk-through and punch list, then final cleaning and a Warranty Statement. We’ll help register manufacturer warranties and provide a master list of products, paint codes, maintenance schedules, and related documents. Our door stays open—we check in from time to time to make sure you’re completely satisfied.
